Our Divorce and Family Law Practice

We work closely with men and women at all stages of a divorce, from the decision to file and the determination of temporary custody, visitation and support through post-judgment requests for modification or enforcement of existing divorce decrees. We handle all matters related to or arising out of divorce, including

If your divorce is final, but your circumstances have changed significantly, we will help you file the necessary documents to request a modification of custody, visitation or support. Likewise, if your ex-spouse has failed to comply with the terms of your divorce order, we will represent your interests in a contempt proceeding to seek enforcement of the judgment.

Alternative Means of Dispute Resolution

Though we are skilled litigators, we also work with clients who want to explore alternative means of dispute resolution, including mediation and the collaborative law approach.

• Mediation. In a mediation proceeding, the parties work with a neutral third party, whose function is to help the parties find agreement on child custody, visitation, support and property issues. The mediator does not take testimony or determine the admissibility of evidence, and will not render judgment on behalf of either party. Any agreements reached through mediation are then finalized by the court. We can serve as a mediator for your case.
• Collaborative law. In the collaborative law approach, you are represented by an attorney, but agree to resolve your differences without the intervention of the court. If you are unable to do so, you must hire a new lawyer for any additional proceedings. We will be your advocate in collaborative law proceedings, working with you to find ways to resolve disputes without the involvement of the judge.
